KKissMaTT KKoonecttiioonn!!

Believe me, I am still Yawning.. what a pathetic movie!!.. I mean, actually what did they want to achieve by mixing few Hindi movies!? Some portion from Munnabhai.. old age home and stuff.. some portion from some other movies.. ‘hit’ Music.. and some funny numerological movie title!!.. – SURELY DOES NOT MAKE A MOVIE HIT!.. They just presented some old wine in a bad bad bad bad dirty new bottle.. (This one is copied version for English movie Just My Luck too)
Okay.. the movie starts of pretty well.. i.e. first 10 – 15 minutes.. but after that the whole thing becomes predictable.. the worst part was when Priya was shown running an old age home.. simply pathetic.. I do not have any words to define how pissed off I am..

Okay, let’s move on to the story, the plot..
Like every Aziz Mirza movie, the hero of Kismat Konnection is your average Joe with big dreams in his eyes. Raj Malhotra(Shahid Kapoor) has a barrage of bad luck which wreaks problems in his career and personal life. Nothing seems to go right for him. Despite being a brilliant student in every aspect in college, Raj cannot get a good break in his professional life. Until Priya(Vidya Balan) walks into his life, and his life changes for better. Every time he meets her, they end up fighting or cribbing but Raj gets some good breaks that he’d never dreamt of.

Even, Juhi Chawla’s character was really stupid.. it did not make any sense to me.. she even couldn’t make anyone laugh.. she should retire from the movie scene or look out for some GOOD roles.. not any stupid roles like this one..

The music was, well compared to the move, gudD!.. actors were good but the plot was the weakest part, really..well err word are not enough to describe it…
I really do not want to say anything more about the movie.. all I know is.. I have wasted my money on it and I do not want you to do the same..
1. Stupid screenplay errors. How can everyone in Canada speak Hindi? Also why is every place having 9 out of 10 Indians in Canada? It looks like Canada just for name-sake while everyone around are just Indians!
2. If Shahid Kapur is broke, how come he is living in a palatial bungalow in the heart-land of Canada?
3. The music could have been better. We expected another Jab We Met kinda music with groovy numbers
4. The old age home of Lagey Raho Munnabhai is replicated again in Kismet Konnection and Vidya Balan plays the same character-the representative of the aged. A fancy term like “community center” won’t suffice-it’s still the same.

STAY AWAY..!!

HancockK!

July 11, 2008 at 2:03 pm (REVIEWS)

He saves lives and intervenes to carry out rescue missions, but he causes more damage than the situation would have, like billions of dollars in damage to the cityscape as he crashes into buildings and destroys highways!!

Well……Normally when we think of superheroes we think of a charming, polite, well dressed person with unnatural powers!. But then in newest superhero film, HANCOCK that hit theaters for the July12th holiday weekend it’s an unusual kind of superhero ,a kind of a fascinating one. Hancock’s character goes against the normal and is unusual because he has no desire to improve himself or his life and he certainly doesn’t care about people he saves!!His ‘heroics’ are knee-jerk; simply habit acquired over hundreds of years.
John Hancock, played by Will Smith, is rude, has a disregard for people’s feelings, and is drunk half the time. He’s a disgruntled man, but he at least realizes he should use his superhuman powers for good instead of evil. Hancock saves people out of obligation and in the process racks up millions of dollars worth of damages
. The people know it and launch a campaign to get rid of him………

. Hancock’s monotonous life takes a turn one day when he saves a public relations executive from an on-coming train. Ray Embrey, in a fit of gratitude offers to remake Hancock’s image. After weeks of “training” and in jail, Hancock becomes a real superhero (outfit and all), winning the love of a city that previously hated him.

However, the film loses any sense, interest and worth halfway through. When the film’s biggest surprise,is revealed by Charlize Theron it becomes increasingly messy incomprehensible and lost..
I am trying to think of the correct words to say about this film….., horrible, horrendous and pathetic do not do this film justice. Yes, it was that bad….. I saw the movie today…and to be frank..i was utterly dissapointed!!

Jaane tu…..:|

July 7, 2008 at 9:27 am (REVIEWS)

Well, after much hype about the newcomers in the movie – Aamir Khan’s nephew Imran Khan, Genelia Dsouza the bubbling actress from the south, AR Rahman’s music, and production by Aamir Khan himself, the dynamic combination finally did release. With interviews, guest appearences, and all sorts of promotions flying around, for around 3 days, all one could hear, was “Jaane Tu.. ya jaane na”!

An old story (niram) with a modern touch, the story begins with a group of friends and leading the boys is Jai aka “rats” (Imran Khan), a rajput prince by birth, whose mother has made him swear not to ever resort to violence, while the girls are headed by Aditi aka “meow”(Genelia) who is an absolute opposite! She is aggressive, fiery, does not hesitate to pick up a fight and is very dynamic. Both Jai and Aditi are contrasts but then they sure have the eye for each other and though love is not expressed at all, the romance is already sensed by Jai’s parents and Aditi’s parents. Also sensing it is the group of friends Jiggy , Sugandha , Rotlu , Bombs who share some real brotherliness and friendship. However, the question is when do Jai and Aditi get to realize that they are in love?? Things do take a sharp turn with the arrival of love from a different angle in the form of a pretty girl Meghna, resulting in a series of episodes of jealousy, anger and hidden yet beautifully shown love.. Do they get to confess it to each other????

There are 4 songs back to back – Kabhi Kbahi Aditi, Jaane Tu ya Jaane Na, Pappu can’t dance, and Nazre milana. Really giving one a sense of being a musical, the story was told very well.

How the story progresses, what promises are broken, and what relationships made are for you to see! A special mention of the songs would be that AR Rahman has, as always outshone himself yet again with music ranging from a soppy ballad, to a peppy dance track and right down to the brilliantly popular “Kabhi Kabhi Aditi”.
All in all it is a very weak effort by the first time director Abbas Tyrewala, and the story line was nothing out of the ordinary. Not to mention, the acting performances put up by Imran Khan and Genelia, were horrendous!!! This movie however, is not for all to dislike. The ones who had been waiting for it to release will be disappointed, as the movie is neither a stunner nor a directorial marvel. Trust me, I never saw it the day it released. But some of my friends did, and to tell u the truth, they were utterly disappointed! I saw the movie today…and to be frank..i was….:|.

Maane Tu ya Maane Na……the film is a sheer waste of time and money!!
